#TBT Fashion: The Roaring Twenties

In the tradition of Throwback Thursday, Ms. BOMB will highlight fashion from the past! What's your favorite era?  What better way to kickoff #TBT than with The Roaring Twenties ! This era represented a new liberation in women and men's fashion. The Women's Right Movement and art movements, such as surrealism played a heavy role in the introduction of modern fashion!  Women Coco Chanel became one of the first women to wear trousers and is by far the most influential women in fashion of the 20th Century.   Wore shorter skirts & trousers Cut their hair in "bobbed" styles Cloche hat was a part of daily wear Men Wore wide leg trousers called "Oxford Bags" Sport attire such as sweaters and knickers  Hats were a sign of class Upper class: top hat or homburg hat Middle class: fedora or trilby hat Working class: newsboy cap or nothing at all

CoverGirl Has A New Face!

Courtesy of COVERGIRL Cosmetics CoverGirl recently named Grammy-nominated musician, Janelle Monae, as the new face for their advertising campaign. According to an interview with Billboard , she believes that "becoming a CoverGirl is truly an honor and a gift. It opens up a new platform for me to inspire women to feel stronger, braver and more beautiful inside and out." The 10-page spread is will appear in the September  issue of Vogue! We are proud of Ms. Janelle for remaining true to herself and landing such an amazing job! She is definitely setting examples for young girls across the globe.

Lunching with Tami & Toya

On Monday afternoon, I had the pleasure of attending a fabulous blogger luncheon hosted by celebrity blogger Talking with Tami  at Strip Restaurant in Atlantic Station ! I love meeting such positive women that don't mind sharing their secrets to success, especially in such a cliquish city! Tammie discussed everything from designing your blog to securing media credentials   for red carpet events. She even shared her personal journey, which includes rejection and financial hardship. Wanting attendees to experience a moment in her shoes, Tammie conducted a one on one interview with the gorgeous Toya Wright! I can honestly say that before this interview, I didn't know much about Mrs. Toya; other than the fact that she married Memphitz last year and that she is the mother of Lil Wayne's daughter.
