#TBT Fashion: The Roaring Twenties

In the tradition of Throwback Thursday, Ms. BOMB will highlight fashion from the past! What's your favorite era?

What better way to kickoff #TBT than with The Roaring Twenties! This era represented a new liberation in women and men's fashion. The Women's Right Movement and art movements, such as surrealism played a heavy role in the introduction of modern fashion!

Women

Coco Chanel became one of the first women to wear trousers and is by far the most influential women in fashion of the 20th Century.

  • Wore shorter skirts & trousers
  • Cut their hair in "bobbed" styles
  • Cloche hat was a part of daily wear

Men
  • Wore wide leg trousers called "Oxford Bags"
  • Sport attire such as sweaters and knickers
  • Hats were a sign of class
    • Upper class: top hat or homburg hat
    • Middle class: fedora or trilby hat
    • Working class: newsboy cap or nothing at all
