2012 Southeast Regional EMMY Awards

ms.BOMB.com had the privilege of covering the 2012 Southeast Regional EMMY Awards on June 9, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences rolled out the red carpet and brought a little Hollywood glamour to Grand Hyatt Buckhead . Our staff enjoyed every bit of the evening, especially the opening by Lyric Rashay of Dekalb School of Performing Arts (seen here): She is definitely going to be a star...what other high school student do you know that receives praises from host Jasmine Guy and performs at the EMMY's? The big winner of the evening was Matt Pearl of WXIA/WATL with an amazing 15 EMMY's for his work in television.  Also, another proud moment for our staff was when Georgia Southern University (Alma Mater of co-founder, Tiffany Cadogan) won their first EMMY Award for a video on their athletic program. Although the night was all about television, we named our WINNER for Best Dressed:                       Lakyn Brin

Combat Dry Skin This Summer

Moisture is KEY! HEY NOW..... THIS summer is seemingly shaping up to be one of the hottest ever! Lightweight and little to no clothes are apparently the looks of the season. With that being said; there’s nothing WORSE than dry, ashy, cracked, and crusty; feet, skin, hands, or lips. And while SPA TREATMENTS would be GRRRRRREAT (in the Tony the Tiger voice), but who has the money? Here are some great things that you can do yourself at home.   So give your skin some TLC to get in touchable shape. Because with heat on the rise so are the hems of the dresses, shorts, skirts, shirts, and more importantly cute sandals and heels. Don’t get caught out there with crusty anything! Here are 9 Fabulous Skin Tips 1.     They say that some like it HOT well your Skin likes it lukewarm. A hot shower or bath feels great (because some of you think you have to burn or boil the dirt off....smh....lol), but actually  hot water robs your skin of its natural moisture, making it scaly and rough.

Essence Storybook Wedding Contest

Although this really has nothing to do with fashion...Ms. Bomb loves true LOVE! So when our friends Aaron & Kyla were selected as one of six couples nationwide to compete for a chance to have their Storybook Wedding...we were overjoyed! Essence Storybook Wedding  Before each couple was revealed on the pages of the June issue of Essence, they were flown to Disney World for a weekend they will never forget. Basically, Essence magazine selected six couples to compete for this contest by telling everyone they know to vote for them via the Essence Magazine website . The voting ends June 10the, which is this SUNDAY!  Take a brief moment and please vote for Ms. Bomb's favorite couple... Aaron & Kyla ! photo Courtesy of Essence.com
