The Biggest Night in Music: 55th GRAMMY Awards

Anticipation builds as we get closer to the 55th GRAMMY Awards airing on Sunday, February 10th on CBS at 8pm. So much has changed in the past year in regards to the music industry, including the passing of the late great Whitney Houston on the eve of the biggest night in music! We have also seen some of the best performances, like Beyonce's electrifying Super Bowl Half Time show! Sunday night marks the pinnacle for artists, producers, songwriters, managers, publicists, and anyone else involved in the process of developing a GRAMMY nominee over the past year (See some of my predictions below in bold), especially the coveted new artist award. The diverse nominations for the Best New Artist category includes Frank Ocean, fun., The Lumineers, Hunter hayes, and The Alabama Shakes...who do you think will win? Hopefully my faves walk away with their golden gramophone, especially Rihanna who I can't wait to see hit the stage!

Tribute to Maya Angelou, The Phenomenal Woman

Today we said goodbye to one of the greatest orators of all time! Dr. Maya Angelou has served as an inspiration to millions through her words, actions, and commitment to civil rights. She was a living legend and her influence on our culture is priceless. Most noted for her poems, "Phenomenal Woman" and "Still I Rise," she instilled a sense of pride in women everywhere. In addition to these noted works, Maya Angelou has set the standard by being: - San Francisco's 1st African American female cable car conductor - 1st African American Woman to have her screenplay turned to film, Georgia I remember the first time I was introduced to Dr. Angelou's story in 4th grade. I'm not sure if I was suppose to be reading it, but my older sister had "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" laying around. All I could say was WOW! How could a girl just a few years older than me go through so much. From that point, I began to appreciate life and all that God ha...

Event of the Month: Mimi Faust hosts BE Magazine No Wire Hangers Fashion Show

[VIDEO RECAP] Special thanks to Nikki Walker PR for inviting msBOMB.com out to the No Wire Hangers Trios Fashion Show in Atlanta earlier this month. I have been to my share of Atlanta fashion shows, but the BE Magazine staff did a phenomenal job with the selection of everyone from the designers to the models and the performers. Mimi Faust of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta served as the MC for the evening and brought along a few of her fellow cast mates to partake in the evening. Although Mr. “Steebie” J stayed just long enough to show Mimi a little love and land a hug, “Prince” Scrappy stood along the sidelines to watch his daughter Imani and beau Erica grace the runway in pieces by Women’s Wear designer AVNAH. DJ Kelo kept the audience entertained, but when Ms. Vina Mills stepped on that stage to perform her new single, “Love Em Good,” the crowd was definitely amped up. I love any event that combines my two loves: fashion and philanthropy, so I was proud to see that 40 Girls and Som...
